Loving The Least Campaign
Overview
This initiative is simply following the instructions of Jesus Christ as stated in Matthew 25:35-40 For I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in. 36 Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me. 37 Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, and fed thee? or thirsty, and gave thee drink. 38 When saw we thee a stranger, and took thee in? or naked, and clothed thee. 39 Or when saw we thee sick, or in prison, and came unto thee? 40 And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.
This campaign will be sponsored by Heart for The Harvest, but prayerfully will be supported by the entire church body. Being that Homelessness has become an epidemic in the Fernandina Beach, FL and Nassau County Area, it is the assignment of the Church to head not only Religious but civil affairs. Beginning in January of 2020, we will be sponsoring two Community Organizations that aid the homeless population. The first organization will be The Interfaith Dinner Network that offers meals to the less fortunate through the Salvation Army Hope House. We will offer Dinner once a month, including food, drinks, and volunteers. The other organizations we have contact with are The Nassau County Homeless Coalition, Sharing Hope and Reaching People (S.H.A.R.P), Salvation Army, Day Drop-In Center of Fernandina, Gracie’s Kitchen, & First Baptist Church of Fernandina.
Through this Campaign, we will do our part of the Great Commission, give Hope to the Broken, and Expand the borders of Elm Street Church of God to a community that may have never joined us on Sunday Morning. Ultimately our endeavor is to continue make The House of Greater Glory a place where everyone can Belong, Believe, and Become!
